Photo rights

Photos shown in StarWalls are published by NASA, but they do not all carry the same rights, and the app treats them differently.

• Public domain. Imagery produced by NASA — Image of the Day, the Artemis II archive, the NASA Image and Video Library, and APOD entries published without a photographer credit — is generally not copyrighted.StarWallsoffers those photos for download, cropping and sharing. They are still subject to NASA's guidelines on use of its name and marks.
• Copyright retained by the photographer. Many APOD entries are images made by individual astrophotographers who retain copyright in them. StarWalls displays those photos with their credit and links to the original APOD page. It does not re-host them, make derivative copies of them, or offer them for download, cropping or sharing. You may not download, redistribute or reuse them from this app; to license one, contact the photographer through their APOD page.

Not affiliated with NASA

StarWalls is an independent personal project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NASA or any other government agency. The NASA insignia, logo and seal are not used anywhere in this app, and the NASA name and marks belong to NASA.

No accounts

This app has no login, no accounts, and no payments.

Notifications

Daily notifications are optional and off until you turn them on. You can stop them at any time by disabling notifications for StarWalls in your browser or device settings. See the privacy policy for what is sent when you opt in.

Service changes

The app may change or go offline at any time without notice.

NASA API

This app uses NASA's public APIs. Usage is subject to NASA's API terms of service.
